2.5.16

After watching the CNET video today, choose ONE of the stories (Birds take down drones, or Underground cargo) and write about the following:

1. Summarize what was presented.
2. Do you think that the topic that you chose to write about is realistic. Is this something that you think will definitely happen in the future? Why or why not?

  1. What I watched was bird learning how to take things out of the sky. I do think this will happen in the future because it will help the birds gain more when they are collecting then normal. It helps the birds learn how to fly with more and more weight because of what they pick up when flying to get food and other things.

  2. The government is going to try and teach eagles how to bring down drones that are not in the designated place. I think this will be seen in the future. Eagles have natural advantage on the drone. And from the look of the video it looks like the eagle is doing a good job.

  3. One of the stories presented is that eagles are being trained to 'take out' drones from the sky. If there are drones illegally flying in restricted airspace then eagles can one day pick them up and get them out of the area. Their natural hunting instincts, as the video claims, makes them ideal for this job. I think this is a realistic topic. The video demonstration shows they are more than capable of doing this in the near future.

  4. The idea of having an eagle take down a drone for "protection". The eagle would use its hunting instincts to take it down and protect it until further notice. I don't believe this is a safe idea for the bird. It could end up hurting the bird with it's blades and could end up killing the bird. It's realistic enough, but very unsafe and I doubt it will be allowed in the future.

  5. I think this could happen in the future, but you have to think about the people. Many people spent a lot of money on drones and no one is going to want it attacked by a bird. People use them for things such as taking pictures or seeing what is is like in an other side of something. Even though you shouldn't be able to "fly it places" it shouldn't be attacked. If something of mine was taken from the sky having no idea where it is I would be highly upset.

  6. The video talks about how eagles should not fly while their in the mists of all that.Cargo are transferred to a direction it will cost 24 billion dollars which the underground cargo is a traffic lane.

  7. An eagle that gets drones out of the sky seems unrealistic. Although, as the video we watched showed it seemed very reasonable. It seems like a very smart idea but there are alot of risks as the propellers of the drone may hurt the eagles wings. There are definitely more things to look at before making this a realistic thing, but it is a smart idea and with the correct training an eagle could take a drone out of the sky.

  8. There are eagles that are being trained to take down drones. I think that this idea is ridiculous honestly. I think that the people flying the drones should just get fined, if you take someones drone you should have to pay them or something, you can't just take it. If an eagle will try to take my drone i would shoot it. In other words, they can have better ways to eliminate the number of drones, or have "drone-free" zones.

  9. A company called guard from above is training eagles to take down drones that might be going in the wrong direction or misleading. The eagles take the drone by there feet and go into a corner and keep it safe there. Also they are taking extra precautions to make sure that the wings of the drone don't harm the eagles. I think that this will happen in the future because eagles are really good in catching things and seeing things from far away.

  12. I believe the underground cargo could really happen in the future. Although the set up cost billions of dollars I think the entire concept would benefit many companies that transport their items daily. The underground cargo would also decrease the amount of larger vehicle traffic which would mainly benefit those who live in a city.
